Hai Phong is an important port city, the industrial center, the largest seaport in the North of Vietnam, and also an economic, cultural, medical, educational, scientific, commercial and technological center in the Northern coastal region. This is the 3rd largest city in Vietnam, the 2nd largest in the North after Hanoi and is one of the 5 cities directly under the Central Government in Vietnam, is a first class city and the regional and national center along with Danang and Can Tho.
