Tetra Pak, a Swiss-based global leader in food processing and packaging, sought to relocate their Seoul office to a new space in CBD district. The company approached JLL with a vision for an environmentally friendly office that could achieve LEED certification while incorporating elements of Korean design.
JLL's team responded to this challenge by providing comprehensive design and build services, including project management, cost management, and site management. The project, spanning 1,426 square meters, aimed to create a refreshed working environment that reflected Tetra Pak's corporate identity while paying homage to Korean cultural elements.
Initially, the design team faced the challenge of balancing Tetra Pak's global brand identity with the desire for distinctly Korean design elements. Through collaborative efforts and creative problem-solving, JLL's designers successfully reinterpreted Korean concepts within a modern design framework. They utilized Tetra Pak's signature color palette, dominated by white with accents of blue, green, grey, and wood tones, to create a warm and engaging office environment.
The final design seamlessly integrated Korean-inspired patterns, diverse color schemes, and traditional shapes and structures throughout the space. This approach not only met Tetra Pak's desire for a Korean-influenced design but also maintained the company's global brand identity.
In line with Tetra Pak's commitment to sustainability, JLL incorporated eco-friendly features such as automated lighting controls, environmentally friendly flooring and wall materials, and ergonomic furniture. These elements not only contribute to a more sustainable workspace but also support the project's goal of achieving LEED Silver certification, which is currently in progress.
The successful completion of this project showcases JLL's ability to navigate complex design requirements, balancing global corporate identities with local cultural elements, while also prioritizing sustainability. The Tetra Pak Seoul office now stands as a testament to thoughtful, culturally sensitive, and environmentally conscious design in the heart of Korea's capital.
