The race towards automating L&I real estate

Most occupiers are planning to adopt automation technologies, albeit at varying speeds and for different uses

March 20, 2023

More than one in two logistics and industrial (L&I) occupiers surveyed by JLL plan on increasing their use of automation technologies by more than 25% between now and 2030 as part of a transition to a balanced labour-tech strategy.

Automated solutions, such as Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS) and Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), are expected to play an increasingly important role in logistics operations, though the high capital investment and long payback period could slow adoption.

Our latest survey of occupiers across Asia Pacific offers deeper insights into the pursuit of automation in L&I real estate.
