JLL Names New Head of South Korea Business

Seasoned global executive Chae Hun Chang will succeed Steven Craig

October 12, 2017

SINGAPORE, 12 OCTOBER 2017 - JLL today announces leadership changes to its South Korea business, aimed at reinforcing its commitment to this key growth market. Chae Hun Chang, currently JLL's South Korea Head of Property and Asset Management, and also a part of JLL's Capital Markets team, will step up to the Country Head role, effective 1 January 2018.

Mr Chang has over 23 years' experience in the real estate sector both in South Korea and globally. Since joining the firm in 2000, he has held a range of increasingly senior roles with both JLL and LaSalle Investment Management, the firm's independent subsidiary that focuses on real estate investment management.  His tenure with JLL includes a four-year stint in the firm's New York business before returning to Seoul.

Mr Chang succeeds Steven Craig who, after seven years as Country Head, will step away from day-to-day firm management to focus fully on his other role in leading JLL's South Korea Capital Markets business.

"South Korea continues to be one of our key growth markets in Asia and we are excited to be strengthening our leadership team by appointing someone of Chae Hun's calibre and experience to drive the next generation of our growth strategy," says Albert Ovidi, COO, Asia Pacific, JLL.

"We very much appreciate Steven's decision to give his full attention to our Capital Markets business, which is a priority for the firm. JLL has experienced great success in South Korea under Steven's leadership, and we would like to thank him for his unwavering focus on our clients and our people. JLL has been operating in South Korea for nearly 20 years and we have steadily built our presence and talent pool. Today we are proud to be a leading global real estate player that has earned the trust of many Korean and multinational clients."

"I'm very much looking forward to working with Steven and our local and management teams to achieve our next generation growth ambitions, working closely with our existing clients and also driving for more local business, all while delivering the highest standards of service that our clients depend on us for," says Mr Chang. "It's certainly an exciting time to take on this role with so much growth and many exciting opportunities in the country's real estate sector."

Mr Chang holds a M.S. in Real Estate Development from Columbia University, NYC, U.S.A. and a B. Arch. from Wentworth Institute of Technology, Boston, U.S.A.  He is a NCARB certified registered Architect (U.S.) and an Associate Member of the Building Owners and Managers Association (U.S.).
